In June, 2023 Kristy Armstrong’s life was tragically cut short in an act of domestic violence. In her honour, Orange District Softball Association are hosting an event to celebrate Kristy’s life in a format that gave her so much joy, whilst raising awareness about the critical issue of domestic violence, and rallying the community for positive change.
The heart of this event lies in an all-day continuous softball game, where teams from the community will participate, each playing for an hour and contributing a few innings to the game.

In the lead-up to the event, participants and teams are actively fundraising to support the cause.

The Home Base memorial softball game will feature a showcase game, with some of Australia’s finest softball talent on display. During the event, Kristy’s former team will take to the field in a preliminary match, where they will also retire Kristy’s playing number and present her playing shirt to her family.

Importantly, this event extends beyond the realm of sport. Throughout the day, we will provide access to information and support services, enabling members of the community touched by family and domestic violence to seek guidance and assistance in a safe environment.

Free activities for kids. Small donation at gate for entry. Registration for game participation per website.

Funds raised go to 50% to Kristy’s girls, and 50% to NAPCAN’s programs on respectful relationships and enabling better conversations.
