Did you know that more than 52,000 families live in the Central West? Located in New South Wales, the Central West is a huge region, with kilometres between each town. It means sometimes it’s hard to get connected to chat with like-minded people, find a business, or something in particular that you’re after.
Hi, I’m Amorette Zielinski and I’m the founder of Central West Mums. It’s my passion to unite families within our community, so welcome to one of the friendliest, fun-loving communities you will find.
It all started back in 2013 when I moved to Orange, NSW. My family and I just relocated from Vancouver, Canada for my husband’s work (we’re originally from Sydney). I was heavily pregnant with my second boy on the way and the big move at this stage was a little daunting and exciting at the same time. When I arrived in the Colour City, I felt the most isolated I have ever felt in my life. Even though I have a very supportive husband, both back then and now, in the early days he had to spend considerable time and effort establishing his career here.
I only knew a handful of people and not terribly well, so the settling in process was not what I had imagined. I was challenged by finding the most basic of services and items. I soon came to realise that in this region ‘word of mouth’ is priceless. So I created Central West Mum’s, now a trusted source by many women whether they be born and bred here or have had a tree change.
This group has grown organically with several thousand women. It’s a positive and supportive place where women can share local intel with others. This group has accelerated the settling in process for many women moving here from other cities, states and even overseas.
As a goal to strengthen the connection of our community, I launched an annual event to bring our online members into an offline space. In 2019 Mum Fest Central West became a reality, thanks to a Facebook grant and lots of local support. More than 300 women united to enjoy an uplifting and fun evening.
In 2020, our website was born, out of the desire to further provide access to all, in this space, you will find amazing stories of our community and valuable information.
Our CWM Mantra is:
I hope you enjoy exploring our community and find yourself a home away from home here at Central West Mums.
