Donna Jones

Donna loves gardening and sustainability

Donna's bees pollinate their mini orchard and provide them with honey. Donna also preserves the yield from her garden making jams, sorbet, dried fruits, relishes and passata all year round. Their citrus house provides grapefruits, limes, oranges and lemons, plus Donna has nut trees including walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds. Donna plants extra vegetables to gift to her friends, and their chickens provide them with many eggs.

Having chemotherapy at the moment Donna has found a new appreciation in her garden every single day, it has given her a special place to heal. It is a privilege to Donna that her late nephew's ashes are kept in an urn in her garden. Donna's garden is created from a love of formal and cottage plants. Donna's inspiration comes from her late father who provided vegetables all year round for their large family, and she dreams to make olive oil one day too. The garden is 22 years old, with a plant selection for cold climate and dry conditions.

Donna & her husband have designed the garden, with many mistakes made over the years, they are constantly learning - & they keep trying stop digging up the irrigation!
