Central West Mums, We’ve Got Your Winter Vacation Care Sorted

The school holidays are just around the corner, so if you haven’t already, now’s the time to make your vacation care bookings… or risk an endless alternating loop of “I’m bored” and “I’m hungry”!

The good news is, Gowrie NSW is here to save the day with their three phenomenal Vacation Care options for Central West Mums. With three centres – Kinross Wolaroi, Bathurst West and Kelso – we are spoilt for choice with hands-on, fun and creative programs delivered by teams of qualified educators.

Renai Hill is the Program Manager at the Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi Vacation Care and she can’t wait for 21st June to start welcoming the kids to the vacation care program she has planned.

“Many parents think that their kids need to attend Kinross Wolaroi in order to send them to our Vacation Care but that’s not the case,” explains Renai. “We welcome children from any schools and have quite a thriving community at our centre. Once the kids attend one of our sessions, they are usually begging their parents to come back for more!

“Our educators have great relationships with both the children and the parents. The kids really love it so much and that’s a great feeling for all of us who put so much work into developing the program.”

Along with the Bathurst West Vacation Care and Kelso Vacation Care, Gowrie NSW has an exciting winter program for our Central West kids to sink their teeth into this school holidays.

What’s on at Kinross Wolaroi Vacation Care

The program at Kinross Wolaroi starts a week earlier than the other Vacation Cares and kicks off on 21st June with a pizza party to celebrate the end of term.

From then until 12 July, when the kids can see out the end of the school holidays with a fluro dance karaoke party, there is an action-packed program of incursions and excursions designed to cater to all ages from 4-12.

There are excursions to the movies, Orange City Library and ten pin bowling as well as multiple incursions to learn coding, a day to engage in scientific exploration and a chance to step into the world of augmented reality to study the human body. There’s also a Mad hatter’s hot chocolate tea party and a jumping castle day complete with face painting and fairy bread.

Perhaps one of the most exciting days for the kids and back by popular demand is “messy day”. The kids will play with all things goopy, smelly and slimy as well as making their own tie dye creation.

    Can us mums come too??

That’s just a taste of what’s on offer at Kinross Wolaroi Vacation Care these holidays. You can book for one day or book them all – the choice is yours!

“Our Vacation Care educators are friendly, fun and welcoming,” says Renai. “We don’t separate the kids by ages but rather we do the activities together like one big family. Through our leisure-based program we aim to empower the children and give them a voice. Ultimately we follow their lead and give them opportunities to choose their own experiences.”

What’s on at Bathurst West and Kelso

The Gowrie NSW Vacation Care at both Bathurst West and Kelso run the same program of inhouse activities, starting on Monday 28 June.

From candle making to laser tag, art workshops and Christmas in July, there is a fun-filled program for your kids to enjoy.

As NAIDOC Week falls during these holidays there is also a special NAIDOC Day celebration to showcase traditional Indigenous artworks and teach the children the ways of the land. There is also the popular “break the record day” full of challenges to do and records to beat.

The program at Bathurst West and Kelso ends on Monday 12 July with a Masterchef Day to get the kids active in the kitchen and teach them valuable cooking skills.

As with Kinross Wolaroi Vacation Care, the educators are warm, friendly and committed to providing enriching experiences for the kids to enjoy during their school holiday break.

Get in early to secure your Vacation Care spots

The beauty of the Gowrie NSW Vacation Care programs is that they are developed in the context of positivity and empowerment. Not only do the children have a safe place to spend their days during the school holidays, but they can also develop skills such as coding or cooking and make new friendships along the way.

Bookings are now open to secure your Vacation Care spots at Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi, Bathurst West and Kelso. Spots do fill up fast so it’s best to book early to avoid disappointment.
