16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence will begin on Monday 25 November and, for the second year, Orange City Council is showing its support for the international campaign, which calls for an end to violence against women and girls.
Orange City Council Services Policy Committee Chair Cr Marea Ruddy said the United Nations estimates one in three women experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
“Orange City Council strongly supports the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. I’m grateful we can work together with local organisations to shine the spotlight on such a major problem, locally and around the world,” Cr Ruddy said.
Orange City Council events will be held cross the 16 days of Activism:
