Book Orange brings sustainable fashion to the Central West

Book Orange will unite the women of the region with their inaugural Pre-Loved Market Day to be held Sunday November 21 from 12-4pm at the HIVE ORANGE,  25-27 McNamara St, Orange NSW 2800.

Ladies are invited to clear out and renew their and their children’s wardrobe for the Spring and Summer season by swapping or selling their pre-loved fashion and accessories.

Our Pre-Loved Market Day is really an event that will bring women together from all walks of life to share their love of fashion in a sustainable way.

COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions have made life hard for a lot of people. The market event aims to give people a reason to smile by having something to look forward to, connecting with like-minded people and taking a chance to earn some decent cash!

According to Inside Waste, each Australian contributes an average of 23kg of textiles to landfill each year with substantial environmental impacts. Book Orange is helping Orange and surrounding regions do something to counteract this trend by inviting women from all backgrounds and of all ages, shapes and sizes to participate in the Pre-Loved Market Day.

Entry to the market is just $5 and kids are free! Tickets are essential to monitor crowd numbers and maintain COVID safe practices. Book your tickets via this QR Code.

Stall holders can claim a place by email or phone. An individual stall holder fee is $70 and a business stall holder fee is $130, and their earning potential is limited only by the number and quality of items available for sale. Stall holders will be able to participate in a swap meet with other stall holders prior to the market opening to the public. To register as a stall holder please email bechammond@bookorange.com.au

Book Orange will be raising funds for The Orchard managed by Housing Plus on the day. The Orchard is a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence. It is purpose built using trauma informed design. Housing Plus is committed to ensuring women and children experiencing domestic and family violence in Orange have access to accommodation and support to help keep them safe in their community.

The event is registered as COVID safe and all precautions will be in place to meet government requirements. The event will be postponed to later in the year in the event of bad weather or COVID lockdowns.
